School: Cowley High School

This young person was referred to us through the Youth Justice Service and was classed as ‘Medium Risk’ due to being arrested for affray and assault.
He came onto the Think Fast program and he attended every single session despite his attendance in school being very hit and miss. His behaviour in school was reportedly very aggressive and he had an issue with following simple instructions.
LG has engaged brilliantly with each Guest Speaker and worked well within in the classroom. He said that he liked the ‘Armed Forces’ speaker the most but gained a lot of knowledge from all our ‘Guest Speakers’.
He was happy to get involved with group discussions around aggressive behaviour and we feel he gained a lot from this as he began to act differently in school. He began to demonstrate a much better level of maturity and became a good role model for younger children.
The school that he attends completed a program with us in April 2023 and he was referred back as a reward for good behaviour.
LG worked hard within the Boxing gym and he continued to train following completion of the programme. He said that it helps him to control his aggression and keeps him calm.
His Mum has commented on how much he’s improved at home and in the community since completing our program, and we’re happy to hear that he has been stop searched 4 times this year, and all have been negative.
LG has remained out of trouble since finishing at our Academy in 2022 and no crimes or intel have been recorded on the system since.
