Emotional Welfare Coordinator and Designated Safeguarding Lead
Gemma Murray is the co-founder and director of Think F.A.S.T. She earned her degree in social work in 2008 and launched her career in social care, working within the Child Protection and Child In Need teams for St Helens Council.
After taking a brief hiatus to focus on family, Gemma became a qualified fitness instructor and worked with LiveWire in Warrington. She further enhanced her skill set by training as a mental health first aider and served as a social prescriber for Warrington Council, where she helped adults facing mental health challenges.
In 2008, recognizing the lack of support for children struggling academically and socially, Gemma conceptualized Think F.A.S.T. Fuelled by her passion for making a difference, she has dedicated her career to empowering young people to explore their emotions, develop strategies for managing anger and stress, and elevate their aspirations.
Gemma's primary focus is to protect and promote the safety, health, and development of the young people who come to the Academy. She is committed to equipping them with the necessary tools to make positive life choices, ultimately improving their overall well-being and future prospects.
